UPDATES
December 20, 2011 - 5 days until Santa Claus comes and brings presents to all the good horses and ponies! Merry Christmas to you all!
November 28, 2011 - The other day I was out in the barn yard. I had a tube of worming medicine in my hand and layed it on the ground while I opened the gate to let the ponies in to the front paddock. George sees the wormer and heads over to investigate. She grabbed the tube of wormer in her mouth and trots away as fast as she can! I couldn't believe it. I ran after her and had to take it from her mouth. It was one of the funnist things I've ever seen. She's just a great big dog... Jelly Bean, my 5 month old filly, had her hooves trimmed for the first time and she was SUPER! I am very proud of her!
October 24, 2011 - Georgia is making great strides under saddle! I am having a lot of fun working with her. She went over her first jump yesterday - it was a 8 inch cross pole jump - but she did it with no problem! I am so proud of her. I have competed in two dressage shows with Koomie. We are having fun and each time the judge writes something about Koomie being cute. If 'being cute' could win us points - we would win! Our scores are respectable - in the mid 60's. Jelly is growing and is such a love. The future holds great things for her - I know it! Finally, the B.C. Welsh Pony and Cob Association has produced an amazing, beautiful calendar for 2012. Sugarlane Welsh is featured in the month of March. Below is the picture that I put in. If you would like to order a calendar, please send me an email at samiam@bc-alter.net. Thanks!

September 14, 2011 - I had a great ride on Georgia today!! I took her to the nearby park where there are miles of trails. She was super and seemed to really enjoy herself. This is her first time ever out by herself. She is making excellent progress - I am so proud of her.
September 7, 2011 - I changed a lot of the pictures on the "Ponies of our Past Page" just to keep it fresh. Have a look!
September 6, 2011 - Jelly Bean is such a loving, beautiful filly! She follows people around like a puppy dog and whinnies to everyone she sees. She loves to be brushed and she picks up all four hooves to be cleaned. She wears a halter and fly mask and is doing very well with learning to lead. I have such fun teaching little foals how to be well-behaved and happy horses.
. I took Koomie to the Park today and we galloped around the fields and jumped all the cross country jumps that are not closed for the season. It was a great work out and a whole lot of fun! And the last thing to mention is that Georgia is making leaps and bounds under saddle! She is trotting around the arena really well and is even cantering now. She is a lot of fun to ride and be around.
Below is a picture of Jelly Bean at one month old...

July 1, 2011 - She's arrived! On June 13th, Penny foaled a beautiful and perfect bay filly! She has such a dainty face and a sparkly personality! She is perfect in every way. Her name (pending registration) will be Sugarlane Jelly Bean. I call her Jelly.

May 7, 2011 - The countdown is on! Penny is due to foal on June 18th! I am very excited about this foal. The sire is a stunning Welsh/Hannoverian cross named Denali. Denali is by Donnerweiss by Deniro by Donnerhall. Excellent bloodlines! Here is a picture of Denali:

April 5 2011 - I spent a few hours today updating the website. The For Sale and the Forever Ponies pages are complete. I need to work on My Favorite Pictures pages as there are so many new photos of the ponies I want to share. Check back soon for changes. I went and saw Henry compete at a show at Thunderbird Show Park on the weekend with his new family. He was spectacularly behaved and did so well. Penny is growing plumper by the week. Her foal is coming along nicely and is expected to arrive on June 18th.
Have a great day!
