July 8, 2008...Henry is now gelded.  All went well and he is enjoying his time spent with the other horses.  Penny was quick to put him in his place, as she is with all newcomers to her field.  I took Cymro to our first jumper schooling show.  It was exciting and very successful.  By our third round, Cymro knew exactly what he was supposed to do and we cantered a flawless course.  I decided to call it quits on such a good note, and now look forward to our next 'show' or outing.  He is an amazing ambassador for the Welsh Cob breed.  Everyone who sees him is so taken with him - his quiet disposition, his wonderful, chunky build and his striking color.  One last note - Ginger has now been sold.  It was a hard decision to put her up for sale, but once I put her on the market, she was sold within 2 days.  She has gone to an outstanding home - I am very pleased.  Little Georgia is now bugging 'Uncle Cymro' non-stop now that her sister is gone.  She loves to play and it will be good to keep Cymro on his toes.  I am starting to work with Georgia and am teaching her basic 'sign-language'.  Remember...she is totally deaf.  Working with her is an exciting challenge.

June 5, 2008...The show that I was going to take Henry is was cancelled due to a lack of entries.  This show usually has a huge turnout.  I think this is going to be typical of what to expect - gas and everything else is getting too expensive for people to participate in many extra-curricular activities.  I decided to geld Henry.  He is such a great boy to handle, but now that he is gelded he can run and play with all my other horses.  He is happy.  I will continue to list him for sale on this website, and will start him in the fall.  Of course his price will go up after he is started.

April 19, 2008...Last weekend we were wearing shorts and tank tops.  Yesterday it snowed...What strange weather we are having - so hard to know what to wear, when to take blankets off horses and when to plant flowers.  I am taking Henry in a show in June - just for a halter class.  It will be his first show - I expect he will take it all in stride as he usually does.  Once he is going under saddle, I'm sure he will sell quickly, but it would be nice to find him a new home where he can bond with his owner and they can start his training.  If you are interested in Henry, please let me know.  I am open to reasonable offers of this fella.  He is still a colt, but will be gelded before beginning his under saddle training in the fall.  Peanut is going to a new home in Lynden - he will have a great place to live and be loved by children. He will be driven as a pair and will have a great life.  I will post pictures whenever I get some.

January 11, 2008...Happy New Year! I know, it has been a long time since I've updated.  The winter blah's are here.  Everything is wet and muddy.  But the new year is here and good things are sure to happen! Henry is for sale - his price has increased a bit as he is older, much more filled out and is progressing in his training. I will get new pictures as soon as the rain lets up here.

November 28, 2007...Sugarlane Sweet Georgia Brown is being retained by Sugarlane!  We are excited to keep this very special, one of a kind filly.

November 26, 2007...Mackenzie Rose is going to a new wonderful home.  She has given me a couple of excellent foals, now it is time for her to bless someone else with her wonderful babies.

October 27, 2007...There is a now a video of Georgia on the Ponies for Sale page.  She is thee cutest little filly ever born!  She is just like a little, fluffy person.  Have a look!

October 1, 2007...Offered for sale...Sugarlane Sweet Georgia Brown!  This is a super special, super friendly, and super child's jumper pony prospect. She is DNA tested and is proven to be Smokey Black.  See this darling pony on the Ponies For Sale page.

September 25, 2007...There is a brand NEW video of Sugarlane Oh Henry on the Ponies For Sale page!  Have a look at him.  He is growing up so nicely.  He is so easy to handle, it is easy to forget he is still a colt and not a gelding.  Let everyone know that Henry is offered for sale and he is magnificent!

September 23, 2007...I have updated the Ponies of our Past page with a few new photos.  I have heard from new owners of Mr. Goodbar, Holly, Sage and Colby.  They are all doing super in their new homes.  I so happy when I get updates on ponies I have owned and learn that they are happy and healthy in their new homes.  I had quite an adventure this month.  You can read about it on the new 'Articles I Write' page.  When I have time I will post other articles I have written.  We've been really busy getting ready for the rainy season and winter.  I'm not ready yet to put on my winter boots, there is still a lot of sunny, riding weather left in the year!

August 24, 2007...I have NEW pictures of Sugarlane Oh Henry!  See him on the For Sale page.  Email me for more terrific pictures of him.  His price has gone up, as he is maturing into such a stunning colt. If you are interested in him, get him now before he gets older and better!

August 18, 2007...Excellent show news!  Kahlua McNally won first place in her cob class at the All Pony Show at the end of July!  Then she went on to take Reserve Champion Welsh Cob!  She had so good competition too!  I am so proud of her.  She was so patient and well behaved and this was her first show ever!  Cymro won first place in Sport Pony Type.  He always does well in the the Sport Pony classes.  It must be his long, reaching stride.  Maybe not real 'cob like', but boy, is it ever great to ride!  Cymro and I are taking part in a Competitive Trail Ride in September.  This will be our first one.  I hope all goes well.  Cymro will be fine on the 17 miles...but will I ???  Ginger and Georgia are the most amazing foals I've ever had.  Both are so friendly and huggable.  The stand for haltering, love getting their fly masks on each morning and they both tie and lift their feet.  If all foals were this easy to handle, I might breed 10 a year!  Thanks for checking my site.  I'll put some new pictures up soon.  That is a rainy day, inside job though.  I just can't sit long enough on such beautiful summer days, to get the pictures up.

July 19, 2007...Wow!  It has been a long time since I updated my website.  Summer arrives and there goes all my spare time!  I have a lot of new pictures I want to post, but don't have time right now.  But I am selling a pony for a friend of mine and you have to take a look at him!  Go the the Ponies for Sale page and look at M.T. Kokanee.  There is a nice video of him driving too! Give me a call if you are interested in him. He is a super pony!

May 16, 2007...Another filly for Sugarlane!!  Golden Gift Topanga gave birth to a beautiful black filly with bold markings - 3 long white legs and a big blaze that continues under her chin.  Sire is Lluchfa Magician, so this filly is a half sister to Sugarlane Gingersnap who was born 6 weeks earlier.  This filly will be named Sugarlane Sweet Georgia Brown.  Georgia is SO friendly, she loves scratches and hugs.  I have posted a picture of her on the OUR PONIES page.  Check it out!

April 25, 2007...Our new filly is doing super!  She is such a little sweetheart.  She will be registered as Sugarlane Gingersnap, and I am calling her Ginger.  She is very independant, often staying at the fence to play with the horses on the other side, while her mom is off eating grass, quite far away.  She also started eating hay within a few days of being born.  I worried that she may choke as she had no teeth, but all is fine and she continues to eat and grow.  Penny is due on May 6th, so check back soon to see the new arrival.  I would also like to say Thank You to everyone who visits this website and to everyone who signs the guestbook.  It is great to see people from around the world share in the love and admiration of the Welsh breed.  They are certainly a popular breed that has won the hearts of many people.

April 3, 2007...She's here! She's here!  On April 3rd at 8:00 in the morning Mackenzie Rose foaled a beautiful chestnut? palomino?  filly!  The jury is still out on the color, some people think chestnut, some think palomino.  Time will tell.  She has four white legs and a nice blaze.  She loves to buck and gallop and have naps in the shade.  I am very happy with her and will probably have to keep her forever!  I think I'd better buy a bigger farm!  Her registered name will most likely be Sugarlane Cherry Blossom.  I'll call her Blossom for short.  Go to the Our Ponies page to see a picture of her.

March 24, 2007..Well, the fences have all been built, Mackenzie has bagged up and the rain still keeps falling!  We are setting records for the most rainfall ever in March.  Mackenzie should foal soon, I'm going to have to get a canoe for the little filly to ride around in!  Check back soon to see the birth announcement!  Check the sales page if you are looking for a cob to ride.  Lluchfa Magician and Mill Gate Atlantis Mir are now both being worked regularly under saddle.  Super riding cobs!

February 19, 2007...Wind, Rain, Clouds and Sunshine!  We continue to have it all here in Langley, B.C.  We have been trying to build some new fences between rainy days. Mackenzie Rose is heavy with foal, I can feel it kicking often.  I love the thought of a new, little foal running around.  Two foals is even better!  Penny is due shortly after Mackenzie, so I am quite excited.  Both mares are bred to Lluchfa Magician, who is Henry's sire, and Magician is also for sale.  Henry is available for sale as well.  Check his video out!  Once he sheds, I will make a new video. Colby is settled in at his new home and his owner has told me that he is well loved and is being a perfect gentleman.  That is the goal here at Sugarlane: to produce quality Welsh, that are well behaved and loved by their new owners. Be sure to check back for new updates!

February 4, 2007...There are 3 new VIDEOS on the Sales Page now!  I created videos of Magic, Atlantis and Siobhan - Welsh Cobs for sale by Jackie Muir.  Check them out and give Jackie or me a call or email for more information.  Kahlua is soon to be started under saddle.  Peanut will begin driving training.  Things are starting to happen around here, as the bad weather begins to subside.  Come on Summer!

January 16, 2006...Happy New Year!  Good news! Colby has now been sold and will be heading to his new home soon!  We are very excited for Colby to start his new life with his new family. Henry is growing up nicely.  He is so well proportioned and has such potential.  Check out the For Sale page and see a video of him.

December 20, 2006...Merry Christmas to everyone!  I hope your holiday season is filled with loved ones, good food and fluffy ponies!  Check back next year to see what is happening at Sugarlane in 2007!

December 12, 2006...Finally, I am getting this computer/web page/internet/You Tube stuff finally figured out!  There is now a video of Sugarlane Oh Henry on the 'Ponies for Sale' page.  And it doesn't take anytime to download, like Ovation's video.  So go have a look when you have time!  I will work on getting Ovation's video to work like Henry's.  Easier said than done though - sometimes my computer doesn't co-operate!

November 28, 2006...CHECK OUT the VIDEO of Sugarlane Ovation!  Go to the 'Ponies for Sale' page and click on the link.  Enjoy!

November 23, 2006... SHE'S HERE!!!  Our newly acquired mare is here!  She is a 3 year old Section D mare by Juglans Mackenzie out of Talley Rosina.  This is a full sister to our own Ayr Hawks Mackenzie Rose.  Check out the 'Our Ponies' page for details and pictures!

November 6, 2006...We are awaiting for the arrival of a new mare!  Check back next week to see her!
